Living in Midtown
Midtown fills the blocks between Downtown and the Museum District, just east of Montrose. Much of it was rebuilt from the 1990s on, and today it is one of Houston's densest neighborhoods for townhomes, mid-rise condos and street-level restaurants and bars. The METRORail Red Line runs along Main Street, so many residents can get to Downtown, the Museum District and the Medical Center without a car.
Why buyers choose Midtown
- Next to Downtown. About 2 miles to Downtown and 3 miles to the Texas Medical Center, with Red Line stations along Main Street.
- Restaurants and nightlife. Bagby Street, Main Street and the blocks around them are packed with restaurants, bars and patios.
- Parks and events. Midtown Park and Bagby Park are small, busy green spaces that host markets, concerts and other events.
- Lock-and-leave homes. Townhomes and condos make it easy to travel or downsize without giving up a central address.
- Culture nearby. The Ensemble Theatre is on Main Street, and the Museum District, Montrose and the Downtown Theater District are minutes away.
